Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Last night I watched EWTN’s miniseries presented by Father Fred Miller on St. Louis de Montfort’s “True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin” It was excellent!!! I hope many will watch tonight at 5:30PM (Not sure what time zone you may be in, but EWTN broadcasts all over the world. You may want to check their website or call them for more information). The Miniseries is scheduled May 4- 7.
As I listened especially to the Responsorial Psalm and the Gospel for today I was blessed at the beautiful references to Mary in Psalm 87: 1B-3, 4-5, 6-7
Mary listened to all Jesus said and did and pondered all in her heart. I pray Catholics especially will watch this miniseries and listen to hear God speaking through Fr. Miller’s presentations on St. Louis de Montfort’s book, “True Devotion” and as he explains the Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary.
Too many Catholics seem to be losing their faith – and I believe in large part it has to do with their loss of Devotion to Mary. As Fr. Miller pointed out, Jesus freely chose to be dependent as a baby in the womb of His Mother in His coming to us, that we may learn to be dependent on her to come to Him!

The Gospel continues Jn 10: 22-30, in which we hear Jesus say to the Jews:His foundation upon the holy mountains the LORD loves:
The gates of Zion, more than any dwelling of Jacob. Glorious things are said of you,
O city of God! (Mary has been referred to as the “City of God” and “Daughter of Zion”)
I tell of Egypt and Babylon among those who know the LORD; Of Philistia, Tyre, Ethiopia:
“This man was born there.” And of Zion they shall say: “One and all were born in her; And He who has established her is the Most High LORD.” (We are “born of Mary in Christ”)
They shall note, when the peoples are enrolled: “This man was born there.” And all shall sing, in their festive dance: “My home is within you.” (Jesus made His home in Mary for 9 months. Mary was His first tabernacle. His Life within her is the Life we share in our Baptism. Jesus makes His home in us.)
Mary is the Mother of our Faith. Mary heard God speaking through the Angel Gabriel and she believed, she trusted and with love Mary answered “Be it done to me…” (Lk 1:38)…you do not believe, because you are not among my sheep.
My sheep hear my voice;
I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish.
No one can take them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all,
and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
The Father and I are one.”
