May Catholics use Scottish Rite medical services?

The local Scottish Rite hospital has an excellent reputation for handling various childhood disorders. Our family physician would like to refer our daughter to their care for a spinal problem. I don’t know if the doctors themselves are Masons. Might the medical practitioners be far enough removed from the Masonic Temple practices to make our referral a morally acceptable option?

Yes, but due diligence would suggest finding out if there is comparable medical care available elsewhere. Explain to your doctor your reservations about seeking treatment from a Scottish Rite facility and ask if there is another facility in your area that offers comparable care. If the Scottish Rite facility is the only facility in the area offering the care your daughter needs, you can take her there. You are not participating in Masonry by going there; you are merely seeking standard medical treatment for your daughter.
