I have to ask a bit of a silly question. I am a bit obsessive so I want to make sure I get this right. I know that blessed items, when being disposed of, are to be burned and if they do not burn then they are to be buried. With this I have further questions.
  1. I had a jar of blessed water I had for a couple years, I made a small hole by a bush and dumped the water into the ground then let the jar dry and just threw the jar away. Is there anything special we are suppose to do with things that hold blessed items?
  2. I have a bunch of palms I have collected over the years. I know they are suppose to be burned. Do I bury the ashes? Again do I have to bury what I burned them in or the string I have that tied them together?
I know this sounds strange but I need to make sure I do it right. Thanks for the help!!

Dear Rinky,

No, no, no and yes.

No you don’t have to worry about the container. No, you don’t have to burry the ashes. They are no longer the blessed object. No, you don’t have to worry about the string. Yes, you are a bit obsessive. But aren’t we all!
