May I just open the pyx at home and pray before the Blessed Sacrament?

I hear you can receive an indulgence praying the rosary in front of the exposed eucharist during adoration. I’m a extraordinary eucharistic minister for the homebound and I was wondering if that could be done at home. I pick one up at 9:00 am mass and my person doesn’t want me to come till 2:00 pm. If I just open the pyx and pray in front of it would the work the same way? or shouldn’t that be done?
 
Dear UM,

The laity are not allowed to keep the Blessed Sacrament in their homes. Either bring the Blessed Sacrament to the person right after Mass, or go to Church and get the Host just before you go to the homebound person. Pray your rosary before the tabernacle and you can receive the indulgence.
