May I offer a sincere apology

Hi all,

I regretably say it has been braught to my attention that the only reason for me being here appeared like I was trying to convert you from your belief in Roman Catholicism.

To that I offer to all all that may apply my sincere apology. trying to convert you is not why I am here.

As a former catholic, I came here out of curiosity as to why there is so much friction in the world between non catholic and catholic christians since we are all believers in Jesus Christ. It is my intent to illustrate that their are non catholics like myself who have a heart for Jesus for the lost souls of the world just like Roman Catholics do.

I am wondering if there was any way that we could work together and build on our similiarities instead of isolating each others differences. Unfortunately, sometimes you need to discuss one to get to the other. I am sorry when discussing our differences, appeared I was trying to convert. Again, not my intent.

For the most part, I have try to represent the love of Jesus the best way I know how.

I understand, when discussing “sensitve” topics in the forum there will be opposing points of views. I will never say that one’s belief is wrong, however I will ask questions on how they came to that belief.

On the positive to illustrate my intent, please note my recent threads below which people responded positively to.

I recognized two individuals for their kindness and christian attitude to an “outsider” like myself and how they welcomed me here.

How do you believe God sees you?

Through these threads I hope the love I have for Jesus is illustrated.

I understand and I tried to express in the forum that we have a lot of things in common. This has been a very pleasant experience and I have been very warmly welcomed and have met wonderful people here.

It is my hope we can build on what we do believe in,

We are God’s children
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ
We all believe in Jesus
We all believe Jesus has Died, has risen and will come again

However we are separated. We are not the one church which Jesus desires.

As a former Catholic, I am here to understand better why we are separated.

Lastly, in one of the thread I expressed a common “thread” that we share in which we can work together and be a poitive influence to the lost souls of the world.

I try not to state what is wrong or what is right. I simply try to speak the Truth as it is written in the scriptures. One who is disposed to hearing the Truth will be open to it. Those that are not will hear not.

As you have said, even though our churches are of different denominations, we are all brothers and sisters in Christ. I respect all of the other denominations. It is not for me to judge, but to remain open and welcome you as a fellow christian.

So I same welcome, friend in Christ.

I looked at some of your posts and I don’t see that you are trying to convert anyone in the Catholic Church,(not RCC). In fact I find your posts to be very Christian in nature. I, being a Catholic, of course disagree with some of your beliefs but applaud your Christian attitude at the same time. One question. Why did you leave the Catholic Church?

I am aware and forgiveness is a real blessing which we all need at times .

I try not to state what is wrong or what is right. I simply try to speak the Truth as it is written in the scriptures.

As you, I state what I believe based on what I believe scripture to say, unfortunately my beliefs do not always agree with someone elses

It is my hope, even though we disagree on certain issues, we can at least agree on Jesus Christ.

I left the Roman Catholic church, I did not leave the “catholic” (univesal) church, which I believe in my heart I am very much part of.

Even though we believe in Jesus, we interpret scripture differently as to what is the church God wants, what type of church Jesus intended on building when He said to Peter, “upon this rock I build my church”.

I know “Peter” means rock, but does that necessarily mean Jesus built His church on this rock “Peter”,

Or did

Jesus build his church upon this rock, something else

I believe Jesus built His church on the word of God, not Peter.

I don’t believe Jesus intended to have His church in the way of the Roman Catholic church from the pope to the priests.
Roman Catholics obviously believe otherwise.

That debate has been going on probably since 33AD

That is why I am here, to express, even though we have different beliefs in some areas we can at least agree on Jesus.

Dorothy Sayers has noted that when we write there are three messages: The idea we want to express, What we manage to say, and What people hear us say. These can often be quite diverse. It is great if we become aware of the discrepancies and can correct them as you have.
