May permanent deacons have jobs outside of the Church?

I am 23. I know that the permanent diaconate is reserved for men around 35, but I was just wondering are permanent deacon bound strictly to their Diocese, that is they work for the Church every hour of the week, or can they have another job to support their family?
 
Hi,

Permanent deacons usually minister part time as deacons and hold down permanent jobs unless they are retired.
