What I have on my side is that I don’t judge. I also have on my side that I wouldn’t wish hell on a single soul. I also have on my side an eager craving for righteousness and wisdom. But it wasn’t until my 27th year of existence, after having gone down all evil roads quite a distance. The luxuries of pomp, the chains of addiction, and the all the things that seem great to an atheist. God, in many ways is truly gentle. He backs of and hands to Satan your iniquity. He does this because He knows His rebuke would kill you on the spot, and you wouldn’t want to go on living; so He hands it to the watcher of men who by nature is to filled with knowledge of your faults to worry about his own.

First, what have your comments got to do with the title of the thread?

Second, and forgive me for saying this, but you seem a little boastful.

If you knew me, you would know I am about as prideful as a speck of dust.

thistle, I wish you weren’t judgmental of me, but I was simply trying to speak of what little spirituality I have as a man whose seen the world incorrectly most of his days.

You seem hung up on people being judgemental as you bring this up in several of the threads you are in. Maybe you have had bad experiences in the past. This is a discussion forum and I was expressing an opinion, not being judgemental. I was wondering therefore why your opening comments seem to be you extolling your own virtues. Is that not pride??

Also I’m still trying to understand what your original post comments have to do with the thread title. Perhaps you can explain that to us.

But they are the only little dribbles that ever came out of my soul in my voracious 27 years that can be seen as good. I had lived and still live a sheltered existence. If Isaiah had been an atheist, but still retained the same concepts of justice, it would pretty much some up all my thoughts before I found God.

(P.S. I was just as merciless as Isaiah in my endless dictations.)

Congratulations on being able to reform a self-destructive lifestyle. Temptation never truly leaves, it just gets quiet occasionally. Vigilance is king.

Claiming to have escaped sin is about as prideful as one can get. You worded the OP in a way that looks prideful to some. I come across that way sometimes, too.

(edit - I noticed that I appear to be judging too. We sin even when we are trying to be nice and point out an apparent contradiction between words and actions… Hope the original didn’t sound like a rebuke. That would be a bummer.)
