After watching the first movie, I opted to read the books. My son watched The Scorch Trials a few days after the first movie. When I got to the Scorch Trials book, I started saying stuff like - I can’t believe this happened and he’d give me a blank stare.

I finally watched the movie yesterday. When they say the movie is ‘based upon’ the book, WOW! Yeah, the characters shared the same names, but beyond that? Then I read that the director of the next movie said they were going to depart even further from the books. 🤷
 
It’s like all the hokey ones saying ‘based on a true story’ the only shared storyline is they took place on earth! If I relly like the story, I’ll skip the movie, unless there is a compelling reason - like Lord of the Rings. I watched Maze Runner, and all I can say is it was 113 minutes I’ll never get back!
