Architecture may give fairly obvious ideas but this Celtic image seems to cause a difficulty. It’s from Arcobriga in Spain.

So maybe there are insights or information from Catholic sources . To start , there is a curve between the 2 pillars. Roman Mithra had a standardised scheme in sculpture.
