Senior officials at the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) rarely enjoy the kind of public attention Dr. Susan Wood has received since she resigned as director of the Office of Women’s Health in protest over the handling of over-the-counter application for Plan B emergency contraception (EC). Then again, rarely has the FDA so blatantly allowed ideology to trump science as it did with Plan B — a fact supported by a report issued by the General Accountability Office (GAO) last week. This hag (Ms. Wood) was speaking in my area (Rochester, NY) this week.

Spare us all Ms. Wood and fix your hair and face with your spare time instead spreading your evil.

Hmmm, thought we had got beyond the point where women were judged by their looks instead of what she had to say.

I think Plan B is a lesser of two evils. If the result of sex is going to be an abortion either way, it strikes me as much better to have it occur prior to the formation of a nervous system–no pain to be felt; prior to the formation of a heart–no heartbeat to stop; and in a way that is less injurious to the woman than an operation.

Just as lethal injection is a more humane way to kill a murderer than hanging; so Plan B strikes me as a more humane way of aborting a child. Not that I think it’s moral to do so, but why make it more barbarous than it needs to be?

I can see the argument regarding parental rights, so why not approve it and let each state regulate its sales as they see fit? Some states may only allow it to be sold by a pharmacist, and others may allow it to be sold OTC. That’s the way sudafed is handled right now–in some states one must get it from a pharmacist, in others its right there on the shelf.

Oh no Amy…no mistake here…Ms. Susan sounds AND looks very sinister. :bigyikes: Ms. Susan looks like a skull with eyeballs. Death warmed over…http://photobucket.com/albums/y188/ginnyroc/th_smokinskull.gif

And again you are mistaken…your plan B is murder. Abortion is murder at any stage.

Not arguing whether it’s murder or not. But if fetal pain is real, then isn’t it better the abortion happen before the formation of the nervous system?

Just as with the death penalty, the state is killing the person either way, but lethal injection is a much more humane method than hanging.

I don’t know whether Plan B will cause a decrease in surgical abortions. Common sense would suppose it would, but where human beings are involved, you never know. That stats coming out of Europe will be interesting. Right now, I think it’s too new to draw any conclusions but in a decade or so we should start to see answers.

What??? You are still speaking of murder. Amy, we need to stop submitting to the lesser of 2 evils mentality and stop the killing at every stage of development.

Paaaaalease.

As our Church points out Abortion is intrinsically evil. The idea that killing the unborn child earlier lessens this evil is specious.

Hmm - she looks pretty normal.
I must say, contemplative, that while I agree with your distaste for her views, I think your attack on her physical appearance is juvanile and offensive. Do you consider a woman more credible according to how attractive you find her? How is appearance relevent? Is Claudia Schiffer morally superior to Mother Teresa? :tsktsk:

Juvenile? Maybe but I can’t help myself from thinking ‘skeleton with eyeballs’ when I watch her talk. Somehow her shell matches the evil that seethes from her mouth. Can’t you see it? How many people has she deceived already? How many more will waste their time listening to her rant?
Planned Parenthood must love Ms. Susan’s marytr-like quality.

Mother Teresa? Mother Teresa is an angel to see and hear. Ahh yes a sweet loving woman.

Claudia Schiffer? I don’t know her. Maybe you can enlighten me.

There is no need to wag your finger at me. Save your wagging for Dr. Skull Wood.

No, I don’t see it. It seemed as if you were implying that physical appearance is a reflection of character; sorry if I was mistaken. It annoys me when people make that assumption (since it means I have a bad character! 😦 ).

Everytime planned parenthood promotes something like Plan B (from which at least 6 women have died) and refuse to speak out against abortion doctors who botch abortions and kill women with their medical incompetence, they completely lose credibility as being pro-woman. Skeleton with eyeballs may be a bit juvenile, but it is easy to see the face of death in someone who promotes such evil. Talk about letting ideology rule over science. The Culture of Death lets their evil override science, logic, faith, reason, and anything else that should have bearing in such matters.
