I know what I wrote and have no issues that all can see it. Did I say I wanted to hide it? References to my claim? Easy…the Church Channel on channel 371 on Direct TV. The late pastor said those words,so do not accuse me of presenting false information. He said for all to hear it,so ask the Church Channel.

D.James held a doctorate in what? Theology?

BTW: It was not my intention to be rude,I merely gave my view and if you disagree with it or take offense, I am sorry.
Never accused you of presenting false information. When some says another person presents information that is out of the norm for the third party, clarification is usually asked for.

Never said you wanted to hide anything. Guess I spent too much time in seminary where people have to back up comments. Especially if the information is new or out of character.

Thanks for the reference. But that really does not help. A tv station on direct tv is like saying
Public library on garden street downtown anywhere, usa. Title of the sermon, date and place would help me locate it in a search of the thousands of Dr. Kennedy’s sermons. Or I could as a PCA minister I know, who has his sermons for an email copy.

Dr. Kennedy held a M.Div, Master of Theology and Doctorate in Reglious Education. Those are his graduate degrees. The man was well educated. We may not like his positions or theology, that is decide the point.

I do not agree or disagree yet. The evidence has not be presented for approval or dismissal. I take except to the phrase “so-called Reformed Christians” just as I would take exception to a reformed person using the phrase “so-called Catholic Christians”.

I have heard many of Dr. Kennedy’s sermons, read his books (I was a calvinist at one time), and what is presented is out of character for the Dr. Kennedy I know. Forgive me if I do not readily accept on a forum non-substandiated evidence to the contrary. I hold not double standard, as an Anglican Priest I defended the Church when protestants and catholics attacked her. Especially without evidence.

Also, in a prior life I was a fraud investigator for insurance companies. I do not readily accept statements at facevalue if they are contrary to an already known entity.

I am not offended, I developed very thick skin in my life. If there is no evidence or just hearsay…I will not accept opinions presented as facts.

The internet is a very limiting mode of communication. This is a prime case, you think I am offended. If you could hear my voice, see my face and body language you would know I am not unhappy, offended, angry, fill in your emotional adjective. I harbor no ill will toward you.

peace

I understand and likewise. Trust me, I too feel strongly about information being stated without evidence. History major here…so I know what ya mean…😃 And I never meant to state the late pastor is a fraud or present him unfairly. I simply was a bit shocked to hear those words.

DJK died in 2007; I had not heard his stuff since 00; prior to that, he had not seemed particularly anti Catholic.

It’s sad to hear that he had boarded the anti Catholic bandwagon. Especially since he definitely knows better now.

When I lived in Southern Indiana I listened to DJK practically every day for years! I am certain I never heard a single anti-Catholic word. He mainly focused on salvation through Christ and presented an apologist point of view about the faith of our country’s founding fathers.

I am also sad to hear of this.

So am I and believe I would not have believed it either if someone else would have said what I relayed.

:sad_yes:

I hear ya. I thought he was one of the better apologists for the faith, albeit not Catholic. I wish I had seen it myself…just hard to believe.

Bummer.

I know…I know, because I have heard him a million times. I just think his presentation was a bit skewed in terms of accuracy (obviously).
