The Greek-Catholic synod due to have taken place two days ago lacked a quorum, with the absence of 10 bishops. They accuse the Patriarch of having bankrupted the Church patrimony. The Congregation for Eastern Churches pushes for dialogue.

This sounds unlikely. Have you got another source?
 
Can any of our Melkite brethren elaborate on this situation? It sounds tragic… And I imagine confusing for the lay faithful.
 
Is this really truth? I suppose the supposition to understand is unclear.
