The pizza place which was targeted by the anti-Christian reporter and subsequently had a GoFundMe site set up by a radio personality now has donations of $496,000. I think this shows that the average American is pretty supportive of religious freedom.

The Atlantic has an interesting article, Should Mom-And-Pops That Forgo Gay Weddings Be Destroyed? by a pro- gay marriage author who says no. The commenters are off the wall many are on the order of “crucify them!” One suggested that the owner of Memories pizza deliberately fanned the flames and is now making out like a bandit from GoFundMe as if he knew ahead of time that would happen.

The “tolerance” mob strikes again. Sad to say, but there are members of CAF that no doubt approve of the mob mentality to assimilation of their beliefs.

What kind of country do we have now that the same-sex “marriage” advocates are in charge? Who are the true haters in this country?

The article from the Atlantic that didymus linked to is one of the very few that addresses what is happening.

wow, over a half million dollars now, in just one day! Maybe there’s a bright side to this completely contrived and fake controversy.

Actually, no there isn’t. There is no bright side to mob rule.

I watched the Cavuto and Hannity interviews of the owners. These poor people had no idea what king of a fire storm was on the horizon when the daughter granted the interview.

I am glad they will reopen their business.

The donations indicate what I believe is a response to what most Americans feel. We have a sense of fairness, and don’t like being bullied by a bunch of activist thugs. The pizza shop openly stated that they would be glad to serve anyone at all. The owner simply stated that they wouldn’t cater a gay wedding. The story is similar to what happened to Chick Fil A a couple of years ago. Chick Fil A never discriminated against any group.
It’s not at all a surprise that both attempts backfired.
The problem with the gay lobby isn’t that they are treated unfairly. No their problem is that everyone must publicly proclaim that they favor same sex weddings or pay the price. They will not be happy until everyone not only accepts their lifestyle, but publicly proclaims that they like it. Until then we all must pay the price.

They have to figure out a different way to support the victims of the Gay mob. Where will the money end up? Could be in the pockets of the lawyers and plaintiffs. If they are made millionaires, it just means they have more to lose.

Since they never denied service to anyone there s nothing they can be sued for.

The Pizza place. Right. Then there is this.

The ACLU, on behalf of the same-sex couple also suing Barronelle, has asked the court to award them penalties, fees, and costs, which will financially devastate Barronelle’s business and personal assets – including taking this 70-year old grandmother’s retirement and personal savings.

Final amount $842,387. Pretty amazing.
Which is why people like me feel that the law should if anything err on the side of protecting the homosexuals.

Not that I am in any way condoning things like the death threats - I genuinely and sincerely hope that the police find and punish everyone who issued such a threat. But the full weight of the wrath of the alleged gay Mafia amounts to a life-changing lottery win for these people. Hardly proof that the law is overly biased in favour of homosexuals.

You didn’t feel that way before you found out about the money that had been raised? Really?

This would seem to be a reason why the law should NOT “err” on anyone’s behalf, but should, rather, be equitable and just.

Leaving aside the morality question regarding homosexual behaviour, if it was a travesty of justice for a homosexual person to be denied basic human rights such as to housing, gainful employment, etc. because they acted differently from the norm of a culture, then it would seem equally wrong to deny or attempt to take from a family their livelihood because they think or act differently from what appears to be a new norm in a liberal or permissive society.

What made the first case wrong - denial of basic human rights to homosexuals is precisely what makes the second also wrong - an attempt to deny basic human rights to business owners in order to coerce approval or compliance with regard to a wide open moral issue.

The law is, indeed, “overly biased in favor of homosexuals” and YOU not only KNOW it, but REVEL in that fact. The “life changing lottery win” - as you characterize it - is minuscule relative to what is being lost every day in terms of free speech/conscience rights. When the coercive influence of large corporations such as Apple can bring about - via economic threat - the overthrow of democratically determined laws and prudential oversight [with absolutely no resort to what should be a reasoned or thoughtful process but, rather, by blatant intimidation] in states like Indiana and when rancor overrules reason in what is ostensibly a democratic political process, libertarians have basically undermined their own ideology and have turned themselves into slobbering demagogues.

It’s time to throw away your cheap binoculars, wipe the spittle off the floor underneath your feet, straighten your tie, and begin to use use right reason and a clear lens to get an accurate picture of what is going on politically.

Great job from everyone that donated to the owners. This story inspired myself and members of my church to start our own group. Check it out and donate if you can, any amount is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! www.gofundme.com/cfgroup
