Christ holds his followers to the highest standard. How should I perceive myself when I fall short? If God can forgive the thief on the cross (I know you should not compare sins), why shouldn’t He forgive me for having a bad day, cranky? Sin should not be condoned. Some days I want to be free and realistic about myself and the world around me. How can I stop expecting myself to be perfect? I become embarrassed that certain things hurt my feelings or I do not always respond perfectly. I currently have fast-paced job so I am learning to let things go quicker, not enough time to brood - always the next assignment. Is that how I should see my relationship with Christ? Some days I feel like people, myself included, expect Christians to be superman/superwoman for every situation. Even if I tried I cannot promise I have conquered all my insecurities, passions, love all my enemies, forgiven every past hurt/pain, I always find church attentive. Is this okay?
