Last night we had a really nice Easter Vigil Mass (my first) in a small church in the traditional vineyard district of Vienna. I had my first reconciliation, baptism, confirmation and first Eucharist within the span of three hours. I wouldn’t say it was what I was expecting to be honest. There wasn’t a rush or fireworks, but I felt incredibly relaxed after feeling the water pour over my head. It feels great to have finally reached this point in my life, its the end of a three year journey for me.

I, too, have just been baptized and confirmed. I agree, I did not get fireworks like some did, but it does feel absolutely wonderful. Congratulations and God bless!

I went through it last year. Keep your heart open and attend mass on Sundays, and any other day you can, and you will be amazed at how much you grow in faith over just one year of receiving the sacraments. Make reconciliation a habit, even if you only have venial sins to confess, (I go once per month). The graces received from mass and reconciliation help me to sin less and love God more. Keep up with studying and learning more. Steady strain will get you much further than fireworks. There are also different devotions you can try. Enjoy exploring the faith. Just be careful not to over-extend yourself in parish activities. You will still be meeting with RCIA for awhile. They should help you transition into parish life and suggest some devotions, books, or prayers that may help you continue to learn and grow. It’s like a marriage. You think the honeymoon is the height of your relationship, but it’s really the long years of growth that bring the deeper love. There are plenty of fireworks to come still. 😉
 
Last night I received the sacraments of Initiation; Baptism (conditional), Confirmation and Eucharist. Wow, what a journey this has been. Almost 18 months in RCIA and now finally I’ve been received by the Church and am in full communion with Her.

It’s hard to put everything into words since I am still “processing” it all. But it was a *wonderful *experience start to finish (including RCIA). When I was baptized and confirmed I had such a feeling of peace come over me. By the time we got to the celebration of the Eucharist I had a real sense of belonging to the community and felt like a participant rather than just an observer. And it was great!

For the next RCIA and the beginning of Mystagogy we have a potluck dinner scheduled. I hope to remain on the RCIA team from this point on.

First communion is not the end, it is the beginning. I am looking forward to whatever is ahead now.

Oh, and I just changed my profile on CA to read: Roman Catholic; no more “qualifiers” needed anymore! :signofcross:
 
Faith walk is just that, a progression from the
shadows into the LIGHT, sometimes it is a
RUN, other times it is a crawl, but take it all
as a JOURNEY, with Christ as a guiding star.
 
We are a pilgrim people.

welcome!!! You are exactly right that you are just beginning a lifelong journey. Keep doing what your doing and find a place to use your talents for the Lord.
