Metal, Whats Your View

My view? Garbage! I’m sorry, but that’s how I feel about metal . . . for the most part.

With that said, I feel there are a few exceptions that stand out, such as Opeth, Dream Theater, Rhapsody, and even Nokturnal Mortum, although they are pretty anti-Christian. Probably the only band I’ll “blast” is Linkin Park although I usually “blast” classical and folk music.

Resurrecting a 2 1/2 year old thread just to voice your distaste of metal? I guess you really don’t like it.

There are plenty of high quality metal bands out there in the same vein as Dream Theater and Rhapsody. I have the (hundreds of) CDs to prove it.

My views on heavy metal music are that it is a tool of the devil, just listen to some songs like stairway to heaven when they said the piper is calling you to join him, the piper is SATAN!!!, and AC/DC’s highway to hell, the part where he says satan payed my dues. I was addicted to this too. This is obviously a tool of the devil, if you want to be a faithfull catholic, then i suggest you stay away from that music. Not all rock music is bad, but most of it is. Metal!!! I’d recommend King Diamond and Mercyful fate, some of the best metal you’ll ever hear.

Really King Diamond and Mercyful Fate,they are both Satanic bands.Don’t listen to them you are ruining your soul and the souls to whom you recommend listening to it. Ask yourself is what that I am listening to good for my soul?

Heavy Metal in general is Satanic,Rebellious,Violent,etc and goes beyond the Catholic Teachings,Values and Morality,and does not please our souls to do the will of God.

You have to judge for yourself on the type of music that you listen to?Don’t be deceived by the way it sounds,popularity or the fashion trend involved in the music genre.

Just FYI, this thread is nearly 3 years old. The poster who you are responding to identifies his religion as “pastafarian” and hasn’t logged into CAF since five days after he made that post three years ago. In other words, don’t expect a response anytime soon.
