Mexican military border crossings

Does anyone have insight into this? I know its been an ongoing situation but do the Mexicans have a legitimate point? Are they chasing drug traffickers or are they aiding illegal immigrants? What sort of policies should we have in dealing with this and/or other border crossings that may be illegal?
