Micheal Davis was excellent!!! Yes, I do agree with you.i wish someone would take a serious look JPII and his position on how the liturgy should be celebrated. i see the mass in the vatican and they use latin and gregorian chant but i also see pictures of him with liturgical dancers. i think the vatican has been very passive on liturgical abuse.
Sadly, Ecclesia Dei is just a small concession. The TLM needs to be restored to every altar it rightfully belongs on.RIP Michael Davies.
Our Holy Father is no where near perfect, but he has reached out to us. Ecclesei Dei has brought about the groups like the FSSP and others to celebrate the Tridentine Mass on a much wider scale. As well, in one of the Pontiff’s encyclicle’s he stated justly that the right to touch the Eucharist belong to the priest.
However, aside from that I’m baffled by what happens outside the Holy See most recently I believe on his his second to last pilgrimage (Not France, I think Switzerland it was?). For that matter the occasional clowns or break dancers that show up in their “dress” and not a tuxedo or other appropriate dress. When one approaches the alter of God, much less Peter, he said be respectful and serious.
Which ones are those?Sadly, Ecclesia Dei is just a small concession. The TLM needs to be restored to every altar it rightfully belongs on.
True, but it can’t happen over night. Just the same as the main alters were taken away from us after a while, it will take a while to bring them back and rebuild the church in the manner of St. Francis. It will take some time to restore the sacred. Father Shannon Collins had a great homily on this last week during Benediction on EWTN.Sadly, Ecclesia Dei is just a small concession. The TLM needs to be restored to every altar it rightfully belongs on.
Only the ones that still have the relics of the saints in them.Which ones (altars) are those?
I read an article speaking about the liturgical dancers at Papal Masses. Cardinal Frances Arinze (head of Congregation for Divine Worship) was asked a question about that and here’s what he said,i wish someone would take a serious look JPII and his position on how the liturgy should be celebrated. i see the mass in the vatican and they use latin and gregorian chant but i also see pictures of him with liturgical dancers. i think the vatican has been very passive on liturgical abuse.
All Roman Catholic churches, which do not have a specific regional or religious rite such as the Braga,Ambrosian,Dominicans, Cistercians, Lyonese, and others.Which ones are those?
this opinion depends on each single FSSP priest…FSSP has some really excellent priests. one in particular was the most pious man i ever met. does FSSP believe in a reform of the reform or do want to everyone to celebrate the liturgy according to the 62’ missal? SC passed overwhelmingly in VII. ratzinger is calling for a reform of the reform but not a universal indult. i wonder how the liturgy will be celebrated in 100yrs.
agree.this opinion depends on each single FSSP priest…
Some FSSP priests want to say the NO while other ask permission for the pre-1955 Holy Week ceremonies. Only sedevacantists[well on the most part] use the pre1955 Holy Week. You can’t really say that the FSSP has an official view on this.
Now that was a good response.Only the ones that still have the relics of the saints in them.
…fewer every year.
