I recently read an article that talked about Petty Officer Michael Monsoor, and was intrigued by the possibility of a new saint (dare I say) if we pray to for this young soldiers intercession for our own family members who are in the military.
This is the article I read, “Martyr of Charity” that got me thinking. Then today, I found this article “A Fitting Tribute to a Slain Navy SEAL Gains Attention” about the same soldier, Michael Monsoor. This article had a link to a YouTube video “Rare Mikey Monsoor memorial footage” which is very moving.
We need to take the time to pray to people like Michael Monsoor, who sacrificed their lives selflessly for others. Pray that they will offer intercessory prayers to God for our loved ones. Praying for like this can put those same people on a road to being declared martyrs, blesseds and venerables. Wouldn’t it be an unbelievable honor for his family to know there are people praying for their son to intercede for their loved ones who are fighting in wars and standing for their countries in the military?
