jerome_ky: I don’t know why you weren’t able to reach the article, but I clearly stated that it gave the references to the scientific studies. If you want to read an actual scientific study of Y-chromosome haplotypes in all of its technical glory,
do it here. There are more studies if you care to find them, but this one should suffice.
As to your other point, if the Jewish religion was the whole point then you would expect the original Zionists to have been religiously Jewish, which they weren’t for the most part. You would expect modern Israel to be Jewish religiously, which it isn’t for the most part. The Jewish religion is NOT the basis of the nation of Israel, and never was. It has always been about blood descent.
Peace and God bless!
I was able to read this article, thank you for providing it. I am stumped, though. This does not further your argument. Your original statement, with which I took issue, was “The Palestinians are Jewish by blood descent, and genetic studies have proven this time and again.” The article you provided does not suggest in any way that Palestinians are Jewish by genetics. It is proving that diaspora Jews are not statistically different from indigents of the region (including Palestinians) despite having been away from the region for so long, or from each other, despite having lived in different places (a natural product of ghetto-ization, no doubt). Here are the relevant statements:
“A series of analyses was performed to address whether modern Jewish Y-chromosome diversity derives mainly from a common Middle Eastern source population or from admixture with neighboring non-Jewish populations during and after the Diaspora. Despite their long-term residence in different countries and isolation from one another, most Jewish populations were not significantly different from one another at the genetic level.”
“Several lines of evidence support the hypothesis that Diaspora Jews from Europe, Northwest Africa, and the Near East resemble each other more closely than they resemble their non-Jewish neighbors.”
“A Middle Eastern origin of the Jewish gene pool is generally assumed because of the detailed documentation of Jewish history and religion.
There are not many genetic studies that have attempted to infer the genetic relationships among Diaspora Jews and non-Jewish Middle Eastern populations.”
The article in no way proves your point and actually makes a case for the standard Jewish narrative, that they started in the Holy Land, were dispersed, stayed fairly homogeneous, and then returned to their Holy Land. And you know what? It’s Biblical. God promised He would do this with the Jews.
“And as the LORD took delight in doing you good and multiplying you, so the LORD will take delight in bringing ruin upon you and destroying you; and you shall be plucked off the land which you are entering to take possession of it.
And the LORD will scatter you among all peoples, from one end of the earth to the other; and there you shall serve other gods, of wood and stone, which neither you nor your fathers have known.
And among these nations you shall find no ease, and there shall be no rest for the sole of your foot; but the LORD will give you there a trembling heart, and failing eyes, and a languishing soul;
your life shall hang in doubt before you; night and day you shall be in dread, and have no assurance of your life.
In the morning you shall say,
Would it were evening!' and at evening you shall say, Would it were morning!’ because of the dread which your heart shall fear, and the sights which your eyes shall see. [Deut 28:63-67]”
"“And when all these things come upon you, the blessing and the curse, which I have set before you, and you call them to mind among all the nations where the LORD your God has driven you,
and return to the LORD your God, you and your children, and obey his voice in all that I command you this day, with all your heart and with all your soul;
then the LORD your God will restore your fortunes, and have compassion upon you, and he will gather you again from all the peoples where the LORD your God has scattered you.
If your outcasts are in the uttermost parts of heaven, from there the LORD your God will gather you, and from there he will fetch you;
and the LORD your God will bring you into the land which your fathers possessed, that you may possess it; and he will make you more prosperous and numerous than your fathers. [Deut 30:1-5]”
In this way the Jews have been a sign to the world. Christ led the way, being King of the Jews, He did it first.
