Hi everyone,

I’m an eighteen year old girl who is asking for prayer as I go to the eye doctor tomorrow. Last year, I went and my eye pressure was really high, which is an indication that I might have glaucoma. My vision also has not been very good, which has started over the past several months.

I know there are eye drops which basically fix the problem, but my main issue is the fact that I have fibromyalgia, and will have to go off of my medication if I have glaucoma. This absolutely terrifies me, because the pain is unbearable when I’m off of my fibro meds. So it would either be go blind, or be in a huge amount of pain for the rest of my life.

Please pray for positive results for me tomorrow. I’m scared to death. I’m a sophomore, soon-to-be junior in college, and the career I want to pursue requires perfect vision. This is just really upsetting and I’m so anxiety ridden right now.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Love and God bless

Please be assured of my prayers! You are a very brave young lady and I hope and pray for your appointment to go well and your anxiety to be lifted. God bless you!

St. Lucy, patroness of eye problems and illnesses, please watch over Lovedance4ever during this frightening time. Plead for her at the right hand of Jesus, and ask the Divine physician to heal her that she might bear witness to His glory. May our Blessed Holy Mother watch over her and console her.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the heart of Jesus as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You.

Amen

This does not have to be an either/or situation. Most medical conditions have more than one treatment/medication option that can be used to treat the conditon.

Inform your eye doctor and your fibromyalgia doctor each about your other condition, so that they can take into account how your meds can be adjusted to work with your other meds.

The key is to talk to your doctors!

There is a surgury for glaucoma athat does not take very long and you may not have to go off your meds. Ask your Dr.

Eyedrops which lower IOP (intraocular pressure) can help but must be used usually for a lifetime, which is okay, except if you can’t use them. But there are several different kinds; perhaps some would not interfere with your other medication. As noted previously, there is also surgery which is quick and painless and can help reduce IOP as well.

St. Lucy, pray for us.

Will pray for you before I go to sleep stay strong and trust in God 👍.

Please let us know the outcome of your eye exam. There is laser surgery for glaucoma, but your doctor is the best one to explain all your options. I have glaucoma, too, but I am much older than you are. I’ll be praying for you.
