Excellent post thanks. John used the Greek word for “chew” not just “eat.” We can meditate on he Eucharist by also “chewing” on its meaning in contemplative prayer. Pray also in your intercessions at private prayer for unbelievers and “haters” who are lblinded, and the many who have gone to other churches with no awarness of this Gift of Gifts.. Peace

“As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats me will live because of me” (John 6:57). The Greek word used for “eats” (trogon) is very blunt and has the sense of “chewing” or “gnawing.” This is not the language of metaphor.
