Hello.

I saw it discussed in a couple of other places in these forums, but I’m still wondering.

So, is sitting and raking rocks in the sand of a mini Zen garden sinful?

Appreciate any and all thoughts.

Thank you for listening.

Why would that be sinful? It’s a relaxing, serene, and beautiful sight to witness.

The Japanese word “zen” means meditation, so Zen Buddhism = Meditation Buddhism. Just do a Christian meditation while you are raking your garden.

I work at a Catholic University and we have quite a large zen garden outside one of our buildings. I would think if it were sinful the University wouldn’t have built it.

Nothing wrong with it at all. There is nothing wrong with raking sand.
