Have any of you been involved with the MOMS program? It has started in our parish but what I have been able to find out about it from Our Lady’s Warriors and Women for Faith and Family, it has ties to organizations condemned by the Church. Some of the authors whose works are used in MOMS are members of Call to Action, Catholics for Free Choice, Womens Ordination Conference and FutureChurch. I would like to know what goes on in one of these programs if any of you have ever been involved. Thank you.

i went through it. i was surprised at the lack of Catechism and simply talking about Jesus in the journal. It really is more of a self reflection group. My experience wasn’t bad, but if it is led by the wrong people, could be very wishy washy:rolleyes: . That is awful about call to action, etc… I’d much rather do a Catechsim study

I have been a part of the Ministry of Mothers Sharing for many years now in my parish and it is so much more than just a journal. Ministry of Mothers Sharing is about bringing Catholic mothers together to share their journey, share their lives, and most importantly their Faith. It is supported by the Benedictan Sisters of St. Paul’s Monastery and was written by 3 women, two of which I have come to know personally-Sr. Paula Hagen and Tricia Hoyt. Both are incredible women who saw a need many years ago, and wrote the journal out of that need. They both still support and are passionate about this ministry for mothers of all ages.

The groups I have been a part of have led women back to the church, mended broken marriages, strengthened struggling marriages, brought women together in prayer and sharing unlike anything else offered at the parish level, affirmed women in the sacred vocation of Catholic Motherhood-both for stay at home mothers and working mothers, formed life long friendships among other Catholic mothers and grandmothers, . . . and so much more.

I would highly recommend the Ministry of Mothers Sharing!
