Has Law and Order finally gone too far? I am referring to the references to the “Minuteman” in the promotional for the episode:
**‘Minuteman’-like murderers convicted on ‘Law & Order’
**NBC show portrays civilian border patrol as ‘Countrymen Project’ involved in death

Two members of a civilian border-patrol group similar to the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps were depicted as guilty of murder in tonight’s episode of NBC’s "Law & Order

I saw the episode. It was interesting. It took a ‘concept’ and showed how someone could infiltrate a group that is trying to help protect the borders and then twist it around to promote an unlawful agenda. It also showed how very good people can be suckered into supporting such an unlawful agenda when they think they are simply exercising their own right to bear arms or protect their property.

My objection to this type of program is that it is always so darn predictable. I would love to see a show like Law and Order take a real chance and make the people you would expect the liberal writers in Hollywood the ‘bad guys’ or the ‘dumb conservatives’ the brillant people and the good guys.

I doubt that will ever happen…after all that would require creativity and guts.

I can’t believe anyone still watches Law & Order. The show’s been dead for years. It’s time to kill it.

The thing I don’t like is that Law & Order is starting to get as left-wing preachy as Boston Legal. Does EVERYTHING have to have an agenda these days?

To be fair, the early years of L&W also had an agenda, only a more right-wing one.

Why alienate half of your audience?

What is interesting is that Republican former Senator Fred Thompson is the DA on L&O… He does show a conservative view on the show though.

It seems like he usually comes off a kind of phony, in a “only caring about his re-election” way. Although, I guess that’s what we should expect from a politician isn’t it. 🙂

:rotfl: It’s fiction, not FANTASY. LOL.

😉 Sorry, couldn’t resist. On a serious note, the show is about Law and Order in NEW YORK CITY and has nothing to do with vilifying Hollywood writers, like you wish that it would. Although that could make for an interesting storyline… Nonetheless, Hollywood writers put stuff out there that will sell, they’re not there to indoctrinate the masses. For that, try Fox News- which unlike Law and Order, does claim to be an objective news source. Now THAT’S entertainment!!
