You probably referred to this statement:This is one of the sites…I’m trying to figure out which was the other one:
therealpresence.org/eucharst/mir/lanciano.html
It says that the left ventricle is enlarged…how can they tell that from a tissue sample?
(This is a coincidence because not long ago, I had to have an echocardiogram done because my dr suspected a problem with my left ventricle…it turned out that it was alright, but he had shown me pictures of what an enlarged left ventricle looks like compared with one that is not enlarged.)
In the Flesh we see present in section: the myocardium, the endocardium, the vagus nerve and also the left ventricle of the heart for the large thickness of the myocardium.
It does not imply enlarged heart. It only means that the sample was probably from the left ventricle (lower left chamber of the heart). The wall of this chamber is much thicker because it has to work harder to pump blood through out the body. There is nothing in the report indicating enlarged heart as you have intentionally or un-intentionally misquoted.
