Hi everyone,
I am at a loss for words after what has recently happened in my family, and I feel like this is the perfect place for me to write about it.
My mother is terminally ill with a neurodegenerative disease for which there is no cure and no treatment, and my father is an extremely high fracture risk. I have been caring for the both of them.
Three months ago, my dad fell down the stairs, severely breaking his left arm. The doctor who was supposed to be overseeing his recovery, put him in an immobilizer, and didn’t make a followup appointment for 8 weeks (he was supposed to see him after 3 weeks). As a result, the bone did not heal properly, leaving his arm permanently bent up at a 90 degree angle. Upon seeing this at the appointment last month, his doctor said he would never be able to straighten his arm again. The only other option was a very invasive surgery that would require at least a two month hospital stay. Even then, his recovery would be very risky, because he has osteoporosis and his bones are just in terrible shape.
Three weeks ago, I went to a Catholic gift shop that is attached to a local shrine. I’d been looking for water from Lourdes for some time, and was beyond happy when I realized they sold it there. So I bought it and brought it home. My parents and I prayed and blessed ourselves with it. Less than a week later, my father emerged from his room without the immobilizer and I was astonished to notice that his arm was almost straight. He was perplexed too, but we were thankful for this minor change and went on with our day.
It wasn’t until today that we got the most incredible news. His doctor, who was in just as much disbelief as we were, told us that his arm is now almost completely healed. He will not need surgery. The range of motion has almost completely returned and will continue to do so according to the doctor.
I am so grateful to God for blessing us with this miracle through the use of the miraculous water from Lourdes. I fully believe this to be true. I can see no other likely explanation.
I just wanted to share this story. I am so emotional. My family has been through so much these last few years, especially my parents. My father has suffered so many ailments, and to be relieved of needing a major surgery is such a blessing. Please keep my mother in your prayers as she continues to fight this disease. Through God anything is possible. And we will never stop fighting.
