I was on vacation last week and I missed Mass yesterday. The city where I was staying only had one Catholic church with one Sunday Mass at 10.
We were planning on walking around on Sunday and touring the city… I was hoping to go to mass while my family explored the area around the church.
My parents wanted to book trips with the hotel, and bookings were from 9:30 to 10:30. So at 9:45 we were still in the hotel. Then we missed the bus because we were waiting at the wrong stop-- so I missed Mass.

Do I need to confess this? And would it be necessary to explain the circumstances, I’m not sure how I would word it. I am thinking I wouldn’t have missed it if I insisted we leave earlier or something, but I didn’t want to cause drama as that was the only day we could book these trips. Thoughts?

It seems as if you were unable to make it.
If we are physically or mentally unable to go then we are dismissed from mass.
If however we were able to go and didn’t try that is a sin. If we are held up and tried but couldn’t make it thats different. So go over your situation and if you were unable to make it but you did try or things couldn’t possibly work out AT all i would say your ok.
But always try to go . 🙂 my aunt and i drove through snow because we didn’t care we WANTED to go to our Latin mass so badly, we love it! it wasn’t bad enough to stay home though.

I was a bit scrambled in my thoughts but i hoped this helped! 🙂
also try to make up for it by going sometime during this week to daily mass! 🙂
