Missionaries of Charity Experiences

I was wondering if anybody here had volunteered with this group.

1 When and where did you do it? For how long?
2. How did you find it?
3. Would you do it again?

On another note are some of the more bizzare claims about the order true? Is it true that they are not allowed to buy stuff or use washing machines, even if not for themselves? I don’t think that would discredit their selflessness but if that’s true I wonder how they spend donations.

One of my old co-workers I shared a cubicle with for a few years, he was in the Missionaries of Charity for a while.

They have a mission right here in the United States in L.A. , at least they did in the 1980’s.
