Missourians, we have been abandoned by our state officials! Where has Kit Bond been? Matt Blunt? I know Gov. Blunt supports embryonic stem cell research but he claims to be a fiscal conservative. No true conservative could support the abuse of taxpayers that is contained in Amendment 2. Our citizens and Constitution will be assaulted by the amendment. During our fight most of our politicians have been silent. We have had Constitutional Law explained to our citizens by ballplayers and bishops! PLEASE contact them and let them know that they have failed us and we expect them to help us get out of this mess.
Gov. Blunt: gov.mo.gov/officeindex.htm
Your state sen. and rep.: moga.mo.gov/
Sen. Kit Bond: bond.senate.gov/contact/contactme.cfm
Your congressman: house.gov/

PLEASE LET THEM KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!

We certianly could have benefited from some political leadership. Unfortunately even our pro-life political leaders seemed reluctant to speak out against his amendment. Perhaps this was because of the perceived lack of public support for opposing this amendment.

Several members of the Missouri state house were outspoken and should be thanked for their stance despite the fact it may have cost them votes.

I live in St. Louis and am eternally grateful to Archbishop Burke for his heroic, unceasing effort to fight this amendment (numerous newspaper articles, intiating a rosary crusade, interdenominational rallies, pamphlets, mandatory homilies and presentations in all parishes, video and audio recordings to be played in parishes, etc.)

I worked outside the polling station for the Vote NO all day on Tuesday. Our State Representative , (who was relected btw) Jerry Nolte was right there with us all day long.

He worked beside us, didn’t flinch from promoting Vote NO, and wasn’t looking to distance himself from his belief. He is a fine Catholic rep. A great guy! I wish we had more of them.

Jerry Nolte, I will e-mail him a “thank you” and ask him to continue on fighting w/ us. Todd Akin also spoke up in the end.
Bishop Finn and Archbishop Burke could not have been better. I will also thank them.
What really makes me mad is that the guys who were silent were the same ones that I worked so hard for during their campaigns. I knocked on doors, made phone calls, put signs up, handed out their pamphlets to try to get people to vote for them and then when we needed them they were gone. Just like that gone. I won’t waste my time to volunteer for them again that’s for sure.

The battle has already begun…😦

Dems to bring back Stem Cell Debate

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) – Now that they have control of Congress, Democrats plan to make a bill that would force taxpayers to pay for embryonic stem cell research one of the first pieces of legislation they put forward next year. However, they may not have enough votes, even with Tuesday night’s election results, to overturn a veto from the president.

I Live in Missouri as well, in the Kansas City area, our Bishop, Robert Finn did so much to speak out against this along with some of the Evangelicals who live here. I was so saddened by the results on Tuesday, it really disgusted me.

Now the democrats are as well going to use our tax money to research embryonic stem cell.
Thanks for posting how we contact Matt Blunt, etc… I will surely do that!!!

I not only voted for Matt Blunt, but contributed to his campaign. I would vote for him against a pro-abortionist, but he’ll have to replace me as a contributor, no matter what.

I wish I could have voted. Even my non-christian friend who doesn’t think life begins at birth voted no. All it says is that we can never deny them funding… We are in such deep trouble.

I’m ashamed to say we’re now the ‘Clone Me’ state. Bishop Finn in KC did a great job in this and deserves alot of credit. A few people I knew went to Msgr. Blacet’s Mass at Our Lady of Good Counsel the day after the election. He gave an incredible homily I was told and got emotional at times pointing out his disappointment with some of his fellow priests for not promoting the defeat of amendment two.

The thing someone told me he said that keeps going through my mind is that the opposition spent 30 million dollars in promoting this while Judas betrayed Christ for 30 pieces of silver.

Thats something to think about.
