Looks like you coved it. It is hard to believe that people are raised with no education in manors. But we only have to look to our leaders to see ill manored people. i.e. Theresa Hinze Kerry and her ‘shove it’ comment, Kerry’s use of the ‘f’ word in an interview, Dick Channey’s inappropriate language on the senate floor. Just show money does not buy class.

i would say to look a little harder at Vice President Cheney… his was just a little more vulgar… wouldn’t you agree?

I think your internet etiquette section could use a little more detail.

Ok, I expanded it in the areas of posting on internet forums and added a section on gossip to the more general interacting with people section (which also applies to internet etiquette).

Now all you have to do is bang it into the heads of every poster here (myself included), and we’re set.

By the way, I responded to your PM. Let me know if you didn’t get it; it’s the third I’ve sent you.

Unfortunately, there are some that choose to behave badly (and I hope they go to Confession for it some day to cleanse their souls).

Most of your page appeared to be a serious guide. But let me tell you, when I got to the excessively rude section on Natural Body Functions (when necessary or uncontrollable) I was dying! It was hilarious!! May I post that section in my classroom? 😉

I hope you intended some lighthearted humor. I sincerely do not wish to offend.

Did anyone else LOL or do I need to have my head examined?

Peace

Unfortunately, I have seen adults that do most of those excessively rude things and do not think it is even rude.

If they find it humorous, good. At least they are not doing it.

You may post it in your classroom.

I think this could be very helpful. Thanks for putting it together.

On a related note, is anyone familiar with Karen Santorum’s book on etiquette for small children (3rd to 6th grade)? It is called Everyday Graces: A Child’s Book of Good Manners. Santorum is the wife of Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum and they are both very devout Catholics. Here’s a review of it:

Why is it rude to pray out loud? Unless you mean in public like when praying before eating a meal in a restaurant. I assume you don’t mean at home by oneself praying the rosary, etc.

If you are praying by yourself in the presence of others, you distract them from what they are doing by your praying out loud.

Being anti-war, anti-big government, and pro-free commerce is un-American?
