in ancient times and some modern day foriegn countries Catholics face the real threat of getting killed for their beliefs. The same is not true in the US today. however the HHS mandate esentially makes practicing the faith an act punnishable by government. With fines presumably followed by jail if those fines are not paid, or other serious confrontations with armed agents of the state. So is there any effort to draw the line in the sand and say we aren’t going to budge any further, we would rather suffer persecution than defy God?
Cardinals wear red in part for the symbolic meaning they are willing to die for their faith, are there any other symbolic acts we as lay members can undertake to show our support?
