Television tells many people how to think, whether you like it or not.
News. Political shows. All the corresponding male/female personalities.
How much time - do you, as a Catholic, give it ?

This isn’t about basic movie watching or sports watching.

You don’t really have a question. Are you asking how much time we spend watching both news and opinion programs?

Please edit your OP to clarify the question.

What ?
That’s a question.
Maybe not a super relevant question to break out your bible for 🤓
But still, I’m asking something -
I know your answer - lol

No your question is very unclear. Your title talks about news but you also throw in opinion programs., which can be quite broad. Are you exclusive to TV, or also including radio? Clarity will affect how people answer.

Personally, I don’t watch the TV talking heads but do get both news and opinion from radio, and text articles.

I avoid day-time television and i get most of my info from the internet (for better or worse). I don’t really watch TV. Apart from the fact that television makes me sick, Online services is really the future.

News has basically two subject matters.
  1. Somebody died
  2. Somebody did something bad
On occasion, you might get a story about someone doing something good. If all you watched was the news, you might think the end of the world is around the corner.

This is the question Cecilia_Dympna

How much television Time do I take? About an hour a night, excluding video game playing on weekends. The mainstream news? Zero minutes of my life are devoted to that drivel.

more important might be what percentage of your news do you get from TV, and what percentage from the internet.

as much grief as TV News takes for being “fake news”, the internet is far more culpable in presenting “alternative facts”, because of the sheer number of websites, many which are not journalistic endeavors but opinion and propaganda (from both the left and the right).

I’m delightfully astounded by the poll results ! Really !
I do like to believe that Catholics - can see through certain things -
and are not so easily swayed and caught up in any current events
to the point that their quality time - is compromised.
The only news - is the Good news 😇

But that’s also the beauty of the internet. Instead of getting spoonfed one flavor, I can read three diverse stories on the same topic, and see it from different angles.

It’s why I like good aggregaters like www.realclearpolitics.com/ who link to good stories from a range of sources.

You may be the exception to the rule…it was the questionable sites that proliferated the net and the gullible who bought it hook, line, and sinker…giving us…you know who.

Nope, the research showed those fake news stories had minimal impact. I’m sure I clicked on a few links myself at some time.
