Read the Tower of Babel story (Genesis 11:1-9):
And the earth was of one tongue, and of the same speech. And when they removed from the east, they found a plain in the land of Sennaar, and dwelt in it. And each one said to his neighbour: Come let us make brick, and bake them with fire. And they had brick instead of stones, and slime instead of mortar: And they said: Come, let us make a city and a tower, the top whereof may reach to heaven; and let us make our name famous before we be scattered abroad into all lands. And the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of Adam were building. And he said: Behold, it is one people, and all have one tongue: and they have begun to do this, neither will they leave off from their designs, till they accomplish them in deed. Come ye, therefore, let us go down, and there confound their tongue, that they may not understand one another’s speech. And so the Lord scattered them from that place into all lands, and they ceased to build the city. And therefore the name thereof was called Babel, because there the language of the whole earth was confounded: and from thence the Lord scattered them abroad upon the face of all countries.
Modern science has evolved into a language of Babel. We can see this because some people (e.g., the [thread=266310]secular humanists[/thread]) try to explain people’s religious differences as simply miscommunications. They believe modern science is more universal than the Church and try to arrive at a purer religion that everyone, regardless of their beliefs, can understand and accept; Pope Pius X condemns this “broad and liberal Protestantism” (Lamentabili sane, 65.). God will scatter the nations that globalization, brought about by advances in technology due to science, binds together. Why? We have become too prideful in our erroneous science and scientific progress. We must be very weary of today’s science, which is not [thread=288795]true science[/thread].

It has become, in many ways, the equivalent of Latin in the Middle Ages. The language of science cuts across all nationalities and languages. Indeed, it preserves much of Latin in daily use.
We can see this because some people (e.g., the secular humanists) try to explain people’s religious differences as simply miscommunications.
You’ve apparently become confused. “Secular Humanist” is not synonymous with “scientist.”
God will scatter the nations that globalization, brought about by advances in technology due to science, binds together. Why? We have become too prideful in our erroneous science and scientific progress.
Perhaps you’ve noticed that I, and others like me on the board have continuously reminded non-scientists that science is a very limited method, confined to the physical universe, and that it is unable to assume any religious ideas or even to say whether or not the supernatural exists.

It is, as you might also have noticed, astonishingly good at figuring out the natural universe.
We must be very weary of today’s science, which is not true science.
Like plumbing, it is what it is. I think you’re expecting much too much of science. Have some faith in faith.
