Well, it’s started guys! The newest wave of sexual abuse allegations!

Quite frankly, I’m glad this is being reported. It’s about damn time. Maybe this will forse our Holy Father to act like he really is Pope of Rome, Vircar of Christ and Supreme Pontiff of the Catholic Church, and incudce him and others in authority to start cracking down and making the necessary changes.

Dallas Morning News is the one breaking this, and ther coverage, in a cool onlin presentation, can be found here.

Here’s the gist of it:
From Africa to Latin America to Europe to Asia, Catholic priests accused of sexually abusing children are hiding abroad and working in church ministries, The Dallas Morning News has found. Rev. Frank Klep is a convicted child molester wanted on more charges back in Australia. In 1998, his religious order placed him in the South Pacific. In the coming months, we report the results of a yearlong investigation that reaches all six occupied continents.
God help us.

😦

I could not agree with you more. The bishops responsible, should be stripped of their dioceses and prosecuted to the full extent of both laws (Church and state). Maybe that will give them pause to repent in perfect contrition before they face the ultimate Judge of us all.

DV and fellow Bishop and Pope bashers,

Before you start trashing the Holy Father, I suggest you investigate the fact that the Vatican has been wrangling with this problem long before your news ears picked it up.

The battle has been raging for sometime. The Leaders of the Religious Orders have been kicking and screaming they do not come under the guidelines of the Bishops. The Vatican says they do in these circumstances. The leaders protest and ignor the directives of JPII and the Bishops. So, cut the Holy Father some slack. He is leading, they won’t follow. He insist’s and they ignor.
Religious Orders Claim Autonomy-2002:
Under Code of Canon Law 586, the religious ordinaries have a legitimate autonomy of their own.Canon 586.1, promises a “true autonomy of life” to religious orders. That autonomy, according to the leaders, has historically allowed them to play a prophetic role in the church, taking stands that would be difficult if the orders were under the direct control of diocesan bishops.
That is where JPII stuck it to them and said…NO. They do fall under the guidelines. Last I heard they are still stalling and playing shill games.

It’s not my intention to trash the Holy Father.

But since the pontiicate of Paul VI, the Popes have generally done nothing to stop dissenters from destorying the Church. We get document after document, speech after speech, directive after directive, and no one listens, and nothing is done.

The Pope cannot force bishops to obey him; what he can do, however, is stop them from lawfully calling themselves “Catholic.”

If only our hierarchy were as tough on Modernists as they were on radical traditionalists, none of this would’ve happened, and our Church would be a much better place.

So what would you like them to do. Burn them at the stake? Being an armchair apologist is easy o young one. Actually tackling the job is a whole different reality.

Maybe the Holy Father is taking Christ’s advice to Peter and not cutting off their ears just yet. Whatever they are doing…they are in charge not you nor I. Christ will sort it out in the end. Just looks like the end is closer everyday. 😉

You know that’s not what I’m talking about.

Do suspension and excommunication ring a bell?

It is the “Duty” of those in charge to remove from the “frock” all those who are obstinate in their serious sins. Sexual abuse of children and teenagers of a repetitive nature is extremely serious.

It does not matter what “therapists” said about the reasons why or for certian priests etc abused children. If they do it repetiviely then they should have been at the very least “defrocked”

We are all sinners and we hate to accuse others of sin in case we suffer the old, let the one without sin cast the first stone, routine get to us.

Those in positions of authority are required to make such decisions and they have not, if they will not then they are to be removed.

All religeons are becoming more “relativist” in their thinking and practices and the catholic Church of recent decades is no different. Becasue everything is relative there is no right and wrong, therefor doctrines of the Church have no relevence.

I hope that Christ has mercy on me in judgement as I hope he has mercy on all, but I fear greatly for those in authority.

:ehh:
This statement immediately reminded me of this verse:

Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4:12)

I take slight offense to what Marie said because I am fairly young myself (25). I don’t believe that youth ALWAYS means ignorance of the big picture. I have seen many a ignorant and stubborn senior, my family included. Age/experience in many or most cases does play an important part in understanding. But one should never make the assumption that because you are older you may know better. Especially not over a computer. Also, I have seen many a young man put an older one to shame in matters pertaining to the Faith.

To say “o young one” is to imply that one knows better and the reason why is the age of the other person.

I would say that I’m just a little bit offended by the remark, but not a big deal at all. 🙂 Probably doesn’t even deserve this long post , but it was just something for me to talk about since I haven’t posted much lately. 🤓

ust my two cents. I hope that it is taken in the right manner.

Our Church needs more spine… Liturgical abuse? The Bishop should issue a series of warnings… Still no change? The Bishop should visit the offending parish and have a talk with the Pastor. Still no change? The Bishop should put someone else in charge of the parish and make the Pastor subordinate to the new priest and until he submits to the proper authority, he will not run another parish 👍 Just suggestions… not saying I know it all

And for the sex offending priest? one strike you’re out. no more ministry… you are sent to be a trappist and you spend the rest of your life living off the land… eating only what you plant and in perpetual adoration 👍

how’s that? can I be Pope now? just kidding… 😃

The Pope has said that there can be no place for these people in the priesthood, and it’s about time the Bishops got rid of them
