I have a copy of the Monastic Diurnale. from St. Michael’s Abbey Press. It has all of the offices except for Matins.

Where can I locate a corresponding book of Monastic Matins - Benedictine version? Thanks.
 
mattwcu - Thank you for the link. My only concern is that I am looking for a traditional Catholic Benedictine Monastic Matins. In perfect honesty, I wouldn’t be comfortable with a book utilizing the KJV of the Bible, and the Book of Common Prayer (i.e., Anglican books).

This is the Catholic Benedictine Matins, but the translation is Anglican. The translation of the Psalms is, if you didn’t know, the Coverdale Psalter which is approved and in use by the Anglican Use Catholics right now in their Book of Divine Worship.

As for the KJV I suspect but don’t know for sure, that the new Anglican Ordinariates will use it since it is part of their tradition.

“Put in accordance with the Book of Common Prayer” generally means that it counts the Sunday after Trinity instead of after Pentecost. This is taken from the Catholic Sarum Use that was in England up until the time of the Reformation. Also, it offers Anglican Collects and the Roman ones (you could use either). The Anglican ones are not anti-Catholic but sometimes they take out a line for doctrinal purposes. But they are marked so you can tell what is going on.

Hope that clarifies. There isn’t a full version from a Catholic publisher available unless you want an all Latin edition. Then you’ll probably have to go with eBay…
