Montana Now Third State to Allow Assisted Suicide, Court Says

Helena, MT – The Montana Supreme Court has officially paved the way for the state to become the third to allow the practice of assisted suicide. The high court considered a case from a now-deceased terminally ill patient who wanted the right to kill himself with assistance from a physician.

These are not laws or court rulings that give citizens the right to commit suicide. In my state, Washington, and, I suspect, in most other states it is already perfectly legal to do so. These are instead laws or court rulings that permit the doctor to kill you if he can prove you gave him permission. In my state the doctor is further authorized to lie about the cause of death on the certificate making it possible to collect insurance.

Don’t call these laws what they are not, that is, the right to commit suicide. You already have that right. These are laws to make things easy for doctors, insurance companies and next of kin.

On this forum, at least, call things what they are. These are “right to murder” laws.
