Where can I find a CREDIBLE website that shows what each of the Month is dedicated to (i.e. March is the Month of St. Joseph…)

Hi childofmary,

Although this site doesn’t have a great way to access this information, the information is sound and reliable.

catholicculture.org/liturgicalyear/overviews/months/01.cfm

Just change the 01.cfm part of the address to what month you want to look at – such as 04.cfm for April.

There is a view of the entire year where you can access the overview of each month (and who or what they are dedicated to), but unfortunately not all the months are up yet. By using my little trick you can just go directly to the month in question.

What do you think?

Thank you Verbum Caro. I went there already but I don’t know who runs that website although I am sure they are good people. What concerns me is for the month of December they show that month as dedicated to the Immaculate Conception rather than Christmas and also April is for the Holy Spirit rather than the Passion. I just don’t know if monthly dedication is personal devotion or if there is an OFFICIAL version of it.

See the following websites:

fisheaters.com/week.html
salbert.tripod.com/index-7a.html
vermontparishes.org/meditationroom/?show=monthlyindex&year=2006
godspot1.blogspot.com/

They vary a little. A summary:

January - Holy Name of Jesus, Holy Childhood
February - Holy Family, Passion of Our Lord
March - St. Joseph
April - Holy Spirit, Blessed Sacrament
May - Blessed Virgin Mary
June - Sacred Heart of Jesus
July - Precious Blood of Jesus
August - Immaculate Heart of Mary
September - Our Lady of Sorrows/Seven Sorrows
October - The Holy Rosary
November - Holy Souls in Purgatory
December - Immaculate Conception, Divine Infancy

No there is no fixed list. It is usually because the feast is celebrated in that month, and there are popular indulgenced devotions in connection with the feast.
