There is a large movement in the non denominational world under 40 crowd that Jesus came so we don’t have to follow the moral laws and no matter how much I talk to my non denominational friends about this by showing them scripture of history they say they don’t want to argue with me but they are right. I am concerned in this new christain path deeply. It is why I left my non denominational church for the catholic church 2 years ago

Any thoughts anyone …

Such would be yes contrary to the truth. If one discusses such note that Jesus actually was quite serious even about looking lustfully …being already committing adultery the heart…and if your right hand causes you to sin…cut it off (using a figure of speech of course)…etc etc

And Paul and the rest of the New Testament writers where quite concerned about Christians living as such and not “according to the flesh” to use Pauls language.

Such would simply not be a Christian approach. But something other.

The Yes to Christ involves various no’s

Jesus was quite serious that looking at a woman with lust was already committing adultery in ones heart…

…and if your eye caused you to sin …pluck it out!

Paul too along with the other writers of the New Testament were quite serious about such.

The idea there proposed is foreign to Jesus and the New Testament.

Are these church going people? It sounds like these would be some kind of Thiests rather than church goers. But don’t at least some Protestant Churches have the same views?
What is your source? 👍

Well, you can’t force people. Probably best to let it alone. You did what you could. People will just dig in their heels if you hector them all the time. 👍

Some one yesterday said I had to prove we are held to the moral laws from the bible where in the bible does it say this

Most believe in Once Saved Always Saved, due to a penal substitution view of the atonement!

Some you may be able to get to read ECF’s, have them start with Ignatius of Antioch on the Eucharist!

You will find within those groups, there is a huge lack of knowledge of History!
