More Gluten Free Cereals by General Mills

For those of us that have Celiac or eat gluten free, there will be a number of new cereals for us.

General Mills has announced that most of their Chex line will soon be gluten free. Check the link for the list of cereals. And be sure to check the box for the Gluten Free Label.

I don’t know about you. But I will start looking for these cereals early. When they came out with the Gluten Free Rice Chex, our town got them early. 👍
 
hehe - when the title of your thread said ‘More Gluten’ I thought it meant someone got fed up with all the low-gluten products out there and made cereals that had INCREASED gluten as some sort of nutty protest or something. 😊 :rotfl:

Seriously, having a BIL diagnosed a few years back with celiac (he sure does miss his beer, poor thing) I’m happy for all y’all - the more gluten-free products the merrier.

I saw that too and thought, oh dear, what did the General Mills company do.:rolleyes:
Glad to know they are just being nice to people with sensitive tummies. My brother has celiac and didn’t know what it was for years. He has been so much better since he changed his diet! Glad to know General Mills is giving them more options.👍
 
Betty Crocker (also a General Mills company) is supposed to be coming out with a line of Gluten-free cake mixes too. 🙂

General Mills isn’t stupid - they see what’s happening in the market and are moving to position themselves. Makes me wonder what’s wrong with Kellogg’s though. If Chex can be made without the malt and still taste fine, Kelloggs should be able to figure out how to make Rice Krispies without it. But then again, other gluten-free crisped rice cereals leave a lot to be desired. When I saw the “dust” turn into sludge in my bowl, that was enough for me.

Btw, there’s an article in the current National Catholic Register discussing the low-gluten host - “When Wheat Won’t Work.”
 
Wow! My mom has celiacs, and she’ll be happy to hear this, I think.

She also has to watch out for milk and eggs, too…So hopefully that won’t be a problem
