It amazes me that people can believe in JS…how he can correct errors going back to the beginning because some how he got it right by an unknown angel not identified in Sacred Scripture.
People who are continuing to draw into Mormonism, beyond family night, etc., I think, are looking for something new, something magical, to lift them from the doldrums of every day living.
I loved my former parish back then, where we were taught the sanctification of the hour and our simple day duty and how our obedience and love shown Our Lord in the simple, humble hidden life had so much value to Him.
Afterall, Jesus and the Holy Family of Nazareth lived the hidden, ordinary life for much of Christ’s life. And when He died, resurrected and gave us His Church through the Holy Spirit and Pentecost, this is our fulfillment and lifestyle.
I like being Catholic and centering my life, not around anything but the Mass and the communion of saints in the sacraments, that gives me a sanctified vision of my own personal life no matter the crosses, this vision sanctifying the world around me…and us who believe.
There is nothing new under the sun. But Scripture speaks of itching ears seeking new doctrines outside that given us by our apostles and their successors.
