MORMONS (LDS) what is this "great apostasy" that you claim to have happened?

You obviously don’t know much about our history. It does have history we just disagree on doctirine.

I don’t agree with Orthodoxy either it originates from the meaning “correct Hunches” of the “universal” religion.
I’m talking about the history of the world not Mormon history. In the history of the world, Joseph Smith made up a new religion in 1830 about 1800 years after Christ. Therefore it could not have been started by Christ. There is no historical support for an apostasy; it is a story told by Joseph Smith like the Book of Mormon.

Orthodox means the right way to think. Mormonism is not orthodox Christianity.

My information is based on fact, not opinion. mormon history is too recent not to be well known. Nearly ever since it’s invention, the mormon “church” has been very busily striving to conceal the inconvenient facts of it’s origins and living in fear that new documents revealing the shenanigans perpetrated by Joseph Smith might be discovered. Your religion is based on the lies and fantasies of an upstate New York farmboy, whose tall tales got away from him.
That farm boy has led millions of people to believe in Jesus Christ and be baptized in his name. For a teenage farm boy he has inspired millions to do good and join THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST of LATTERDAY-SAINTS. If he was a simple farm boy and a liar, i challenge you to duplicate or produce his results and bring even 10% of the number of people to a religion you create that teaches wholesome family values, hard work, honesty and productivity and many other Christ like traits taught in the LDS faith and practiced by its numerous members.

AH, the old “FEAR” card!! They must teach that to you in Mormon school. Is it working?
You bet it is!. I lie in fear every night thinking of Mormons taking over the world, entraping gullible people and spreading a false gospel spawned by a false prophet. FEAR!
Thanks for caring.

The apostasy in fact was predicted even before Christ.

The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Isaiah 24:5

Note the “everlasting covenant”, which was the covenant with Christ. For this covenant to be broken it implies an apostasy.

Why do mormons think everything in the OT is about themselves?

So called “legitimate scholars” have also stated THE OLD TESTAMENT to be false and mythology.
Catholics, on the whole don’t tend to be biblical literalists (though there are definitely exceptions). So Catholics, as well as non-fundamentalist Protestants have an understanding that parts of the OT are not literally true, but instead teach spiritual truth w/o the story being historical fact.

There is excellent scholarship in this area that is quite legitimate…
