I have noticed that when Mormons pray they fold their arms instead of placing their hands together as normally seen in a traditional Christian setting. How did this practice evolve?

I was raised LDS. I don’t know how the practice evolved, but I was taught as a kid to pray that way. I was told it was the best way to show reverence.

Where did you get that idea?

According to the earliest artistic represntation, the traditional posture for Christian prayer is standing with arms and hands extended–the orans posture.
