Mortal Sins and Prayers?

Does God listen to the prayers of those in mortal sin just as much as to those of the righteous and saints - is this why we ask the saints “to pray to the Lord our God for me” and in fact we might ask does he listen and respond just as much to Atheists,pagans and protestants as to Catholics - twinc
 
Parents have a special soft spot in their hearts for their children in trouble. God our Father most certainly listens to prayers of people in sin and confusion.
