Well, it wasn’t the most scathingly brilliant observation, but pretty good for my priest who really doesn’t say much most of the time. He said last Sunday that Moses’ outstretched arms were (kind of) a foreshadowing of Christ’s on the Cross.
That led me to think that there might be even more to it. If Christ’s arms are still outstretched via the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, that is how Christianity maintains it’s “upper hand” so to speak, in the supernatural world, the victory ultimately belonging to God.
Does anyone (Catholics, I mean) see such a link between the perpetuity of Christ’s Sacrifice and Moses’ position in battle?
