This thread is to counter “Why don’t Catholic know the Bible?”
I am going to made this as a discussion. From what I have observed most Protestants not all don’t really know the Bible.
For one, they don’t acknowledge Authority of the Church stated in Matthew 16:18.
They don’t acknowledge the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament (Bread of Life) in John 6:22-71.
The don’t believe in Apostolic Succession which is strongly supported in Acts, and Epistles of Paul,
They lack the fullness of Biblical Message. From what I have seen only the Catholic Church understand the fullness of Biblical Message. The Bible.
The connection between the Old Testament and New Testament called Typology, the concept that the NT is hidden in the OT, and the OT is revealed in the NT concerning the Davidic Kingdom.
In Catholic understanding of the Bible, we see that Jesus inherited the Kingdom of his father David, and he will rule over the house of Jacob forever. In the OT, Jewish Kings have mothers as the queen mothers, and they have steward of the kingdom given the keys to the kingdom.
In the NT, the Church acknowledges Jesus fulfilled this as the Messiah, and His Mother, Mary is the Queen of Heaven as mention in Revelation 12:1. Jesus appointed a steward to oversea his flock on Earth whom we know is Pope, the successor of Peter.
