Most Popular Book in your parish

What is the most popular book in your parish? The book must not be Bible, Catechism, or Denzinger. There are so many people in my parish who have read ‘Story of the Soul’.

I don’t know about my parishes specifically, but that Consecration to St. Joseph book is hugely popular everywhere.

33 Days to Morning Glory by Fr. Gaitley is also super popular everywhere.

Both Fr. Calloway and Fr. Gaitley are MIC. It seems like that order is really good at writing devotional books for today’s Catholics.

I talked about the ‘Story of the Soul’ and said that they read it. I also did a survey on Facebook and Instagram to ask if they read ‘Story of the Soul’.

The Marians of the Immaculate Conception, an order from Poland.

They have many well-known members including Fr. Donald Calloway, Fr. Chris Alar, Fr. Michael Gaitley, and they also promote the Divine Mercy devotion in the USA and run the Divine Mercy website (thedivinemercy.org ) and also the Divine Mercy US shrine in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.
Also they are about to celebrate their 350th anniversary!

They’re quite an interesting order. They were founded in the 1600s by the recently canonized St. Stanislaus Papczynski. But a lot of wars and political upheavals took a toll and by 1908 they were down to only one member in Poland. He thought he would be the last one and the order would die out. Then two other priests from Lithuania and Russia secretly joined and one of them reformed the Order and moved it to Switzerland so it grew very big again. Now they have 80 locations worldwide.
