If this vision is not approved by the Church, we cannot discuss it as per CAF rules.

God love Mother Angelica. You never knew what she was going to say next. But you knew she loved Jesus.

I haven’t looked at the video yet. But if you click the title, it will take you to the page. All it does is give a background of her devotion to the Divine Child Jesus and how she came to build what is now known as the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament.

It seems to be a reoccurring pattern and an endearing quality with saints and people likely to become saints. They aren’t interested in the praise of men, so they casually talk about whatever the Spirit prompts them to talk about. It’s a model for all of us.

The other thing is when you’re like Mother Angelica and in daily conversation with God, it’s kind of a normal part of your life. Awesome, but normal. You’d talk about it just like someone else might talk about having a conversation with their mom or brother.

Anyway the video isn’t really about her vision, it’s primarily about why she built the shrine and how she hopes the statue of the Child Jesus will motivate people who might commit abortion or child abuse to stop. Then she talks about what it’s like to be a child and how we should model our faith after little children, and comments on situations involving child abuse or severe childhood illness. I think this topic was close to her heart because she herself had a poor, difficult childhood.

Yes, Tis_Bearself,

I agree the video does not talk about an “unapproved apparition” and as such does not break any rules, it seems to me. Even though the written article, mentions more, I hope that CAF does not remove this thread. It allows us to hear Mother Angelica share what God placed on her heart in Truth. It reminded me in some ways of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta hearing the Lord and sharing what she heard as the “founding inspiration for the Missionaries of Charity”.

It was in some ways prophetic that Mother spoke about “abusers of children” – since the Church today, some 20 years after the video was produced, is suffering from the horrendous scandals of sexual abuse and cover-ups – God is truly cleansing His Temple – as Jesus did when He saw what was being done in during His time of ministry on this earth!

The beauty of Mother’s talk, however, is in her description of what it means to be a “child of God”. The beauty of childlike humility and trust is so pleasing to God – and she reminded us all of Jesus’ words:
"Unless you turn and become like little chilren you shall not enter the Kingdom of heaven. " (cf Mt 18)
I shared this video with two people whom I’m sure will be blessed by it and I thank God for having been able to watch it and listen to the Lord’s “work” in Mother Angelica. My husband and I visited the shrine at Hanceville and I agree with the sculpter of that statue of the Child Jesus, when he said that “he” (the sculpter) did not carve that Face – it was so Compassionate and so Loving!

Mother Angelica herself, reveaed her own heart of love and compassion in speaking to the caller in the video, who confessed that he had been abused as a child and found it hard to forgive. In her tender motherly way, she told him not to confuse acknowledging the wrong that had been done to him with forgiveness of the one who abused him. Jesus forgave from His Cross, praying “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do”.

I also agree with lilypadrees who said of Mother Angelica, “Younever knew what she was going to say next. But you knew she loved Jesus” 🙂
