I am intrigued of the Devotion of God the Father of All Mankind whose Feast Day is the First Sunday of August. There are also many devotees through this devotion in my parish. So is this devotion approved by the church? I also learned that Mother Eugenia Ravasio’s messages were approved by Bishop Alexander Caillot of Grenoble and it’s not a heresy so does this mean that the church approved it? So Mother Eugenia Elisabetta Ravasio has a chance to become a Saint?

Never heard of this devotion or of Mother Ravasio.

Her messages are bishop-approved, so it’s okay to read them and practice the devotion.

Her messages aren’t Vatican-approved. This is pretty normal as the Vatican only approves a tiny handful of apparitions. Most of the time they are left to the local bishop to approve or disapprove, and the Vatican says nothing.

In order to become a saint, Mother Ravasio would have to have a sainthood cause probably pushed by her order or by another group such as a large group of her devotees. I am not aware from Internet research of anyone starting a cause for her, which would cost money and require considerable effort.

Ah! Thank You. I think the feast is similar to the Jewish feast of Tabernacles. However this clarifies my curiosity of the Devotion of God the Father of All Mankind.

So making a person saint costs money? Wow! I never thought of that would be the case. Maybe it’s God’s Grace that moves people for such cause I believe.

There are costs involved in doing the required investigations and sending the necessary results and documents to the Vatican. The cause may need administrative help to handle correspondence, spread the word about the cause, solicit donations towards the cause etc.

Causes usually have prayer cards to distribute so people know about the cause and can pray in support, or petition the sainthood candidate for their intercession which provides evidence of cult needed for the cause, and also hopefully will result in miracles also needed for the cause. It costs money to print and send out prayer cards. Sometimes the cause also distributes some second or third class relics.

In the USA, often there will be some shrine for the candidate or place of pilgrimage for those wishing to venerate the candidate, and this can cost money to keep up also.

On the plus side, all these needs tend to exclude any candidates that don’t have a strong following among the faithful, thus reducing the number of requests the Vatican has to deal with using their own limited resources.
