There is no church teaching on specific situations. It would be impossible for the Church to rule on each one. The Church reaffirms the dignity of every human being created by God.
I am a mother of 3 children. One in heaven, the other 2 still here in the world. I would gladly give my life for any or all 3 of them. To me, that is the vocation of a mother. God had other plans. As Mary says: Be it done to me according to His will.
